One World Academy Integrated Curriculum Overview

Preschool (Ages 2–5)

 

• Early Childhood Development standards: Play-based learning, social-emotional skills, foundational language and math.

• Cambridge Integration: Introduction to English language through songs, stories, and play. Development of early thinking and communication skills.

• Languages: Portuguese (primary), English (exposure)

Primary School (1st-7th Grade)

 

Mozambican Curriculum:

All core subjects as prescribed by the Ministério da Educação: Portuguese, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Studies, Moral and Civic Education, Physical Education and Arts.

Cambridge Integration:

  • English as a Second Language: Structured development of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Global Perspectives: Encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and awareness
    of global issues.
  • Cambridge Maths and Science (supplemental): Used to enrich understanding and analytical skills.

 

Assessments:

  • National Exams
  • Internal Cambridge-based evaluations each Semester

Lower Secondary (8th -10th Grade)

 

  • Mozambican Curriculum:

Continuation of all national subjects with increased academic rigor.

Cambridge Integration:

  • English: More advanced language development, academic writing, and speaking.
  • Cambridge Science and Mathematics: Problem-solving, experiment-based learning, and international benchmarks.
  • Digital Literacy & Global Citizenship: Skills for modern learning and global awareness.

 

Assessments:

  • National Exams
  • Internal Cambridge-based evaluations each Semester

Upper Secondary / Pre-University (11th-12th Grade)

• Mozambican Curriculum:

National curriculum streams (science, humanities, etc.) as required for national certification.

Cambridge Integration:

  • Academic English for higher education readiness
  • Research Projects and Presentations aligned with Cambridge Global Perspectives
  • Career and College Readiness Modules

Assessments:
